Chinese Official on Sino-DPRK Friendship
Pyongyang, May 16 (KCNA) -- President Kim Il Sung was not only the great leader of the Korean people but also a close friend of the Chinese people, said Deputy Director of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Ministry of National Defense of China Guan Youfei, when interviewed by KCNA before his departure from here after visiting the DPRK at the head of a delegation of the families of fallen fighters of the Chinese People's Volunteers.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of the entry of the CPV into the Korean front, he said, referring to the fact that during the Korean war the fighters of the CPV rushed to the Korean front under the banner of "resisting America and aiding Korea, safeguarding the home and defending the motherland" and valiantly fought against the common enemy shoulder to shoulder with the Korean people.

The feats performed by the armies and peoples of the two countries in the fight against the aggressors remain shining with brilliance, he noted.

This time the delegation was deeply impressed to tour the land associated with the blood and soul of the fighters of the CPV, the memorable places, he noted, and went on:

During our visit we deeply felt that the Sino-DPRK friendship is, indeed, unbreakable and solid once again.

This friendship has grown stronger day by day under the deep care of the top leaders of the two countries.

The peoples of the two countries have closely supported and cooperated with each other and dynamically pushed forward the revolution and construction, registering great achievements.

I wish the Korean people greater progress under the wise leadership of General Secretary
Kim Jong Il.
