Suppression of Progressive Forces Protested in S. Korea

Pyongyang, May 17 (KCNA) -- Organizations of different circles in south Korea, including the Solidarity for Voters in 2010 made up of more than 2,000 civic and public organizations and opposition parties, called a press conference in Seoul on May 14 at which they denounced the puppet group for intensifying the suppression of progressive forces with the "elections to the local self-governing bodies" at hand.

The organizations chided the "Election Management Committee" for labeling the activities of civic and public organizations against the unpopular rule of the authorities, as evidenced by their projects for the "improvement of the four large rivers," "illegal ones".

They accused the "committee" of feigning ignorance of the "government's" irregularities and swindles, stating that they would not tolerate the unreasonable application of double-standards to the issues related to the "elections".
