On display are products from companies and organizations of the DPRK, China, Germany, Russia, Mongolia, Switzerland, Singapore, Australia, Austria, Italy, Indonesia, Cuba, Poland and Taipei of China.

Present at the opening ceremony were O Su Yong, vice-premier of the DPRK, Ri Ryong Nam, minister of Foreign Trade, officials in the field of foreign trade, delegations of different countries and regions and representatives and staff members of foreign embassies here.

Ri Myong San, vice-minister of Foreign Trade, made a congratulatory speech to be followed by an inaugural speech by Kim Mun Jong, president of the Korean International Exhibition Corporation.

Speakers hoped that all the participants would achieve successes through multi-faceted economic and technological exchange and brisk trade during the fair.

They declared the DPRK would in the future, too, further expand and develop economic cooperation with all countries friendly towards it on the principle of equality and mutual benefit.

A reception was given at Pyongyang Koryo Hotel on the same day in connection with the opening of the fair.
