The elections will prove to be a battle decisive of whether the people throw overboard the anti-reunification and confrontation-minded group by judging the "Grand National Party" (GNP) and the "government" swimming against independence, democracy and reunification or remain slaves under the pro-U.S. dictatorial rule, the appeal said, and went on:

Now the fascist conservative group is kicking up a whirlwind of "witch hunting"-style suppression under the pretext of public security dating back to the Cold War era in which dissidents were unconditionally labeled "left-wing elements". It goes on such rampage as branding the former "presidents" who signed the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration as "leftist" and setting fire to their graves. The group punishes anyone critical of its unpopular rule on the charge of violation of the "law on elections" in a bid to totally stamp out the progressive forces.

Even the Lee Myung Bak group deliberately floated the story that the sinking of warship "Cheonan" was caused by the north in a foolish attempt to mislead the mindset of the people and create "a security crisis" for the purpose of weathering out its "election" crisis.

Urging all the people in south Korea to judge in unity the dictatorial forces going under the veil of "pragmatism" obsessed by fascism and war and turn out in an all-out struggle to build a new bridgehead in the movement for independence, democracy and reunification, the appeal said:

Any vote for the GNP means a ballot inviting self-destruction as it will bring war disasters.

The row about the sinking of warship "Cheonan" is a farce carefully orchestrated by the traitorous ruling quarters to cover up the plot to start a war against the DPRK and a fiction about the "north wind" concocted under the signboard of "pragmatism" to deceive and mock at the people.

Do not be taken in by the deceptive farce of the GNP seeking to benefit from the misinformation about the "north wind"!

Let us vote for the candidates of the forces standing for progressive reforms irrespective of grouping, political view, affiliation and religious belief!

Let us force the "government under the guise of pragmatism" to pay for the crimes committed in two and a half years and put a definite end to the ambition of the traitorous party for long-term office through an all-people's resolute decision and firm option!

Let us open up a new horizon for progress and reforms and bring about a turning phase for peace and reunification by winning a victory in the "elections to local self-governing bodies!"
