Pyongyang, May 20 (KCNA) -- General Secretary Kim Jong Il provided field guidance to the Kwanmobong Machine-Building Plant which successfully put its production processes on a CNC basis. Being briefed on the plant before a large map showing its panoramic view, he went round the outside and inside of the technologically updated plant for hours to acquaint himself in detail with its technological updating and production. Watching CNC-based machine tools standing in rows in every worksite and products being churned out from them in an endless stream, he expressed great satisfaction over the fact that the workers of the plant have made rapid progress in the manufacture of mechanical products by successfully putting the production processes on a modern and scientific basis and highly appreciated their feats. The officials, workers and technicians of the plant could turn the plant into one as required by the age of knowledge-based economy by waging a dynamic mass technical innovation movement, he noted, highly appreciating such revolutionary work style and enterprising working attitude as bringing about uninterrupted advances and innovations without a moment's stagnation and marking time. Noting that the plant set an example not only in the modernization but also in the cultured practices in production and life, he repeatedly estimated a lot of work done by the officials and workers of the plant to spruce its inside as a palace and outside as a park. He set forth highly important tasks that would serve as guidelines for the management of the plant and production there. Underscoring the need for the plant to keep dashing ahead to attain a higher scientific and technological goal on the basis of the successes made in putting it on a CNC basis, he set the goals to be attained by the plant in the near future and specified the orientation and ways to do so. He said that the most important task facing the plant is to wage a dynamic drive to rapidly increase the manufacture of new products.
