Present there were Kim Jong Suk, chairwoman of the Korean Committee for Cultural Relations with Foreign Countries, Jon Yong Jin, vice-chairman of the above-said committee who is chairman of the DPRK-Vietnam Friendship Association, officials of the DPRK-Vietnam friendship units and working people in the city of Pyongyang.

Ambassador Le Van Cu and staff members of the Vietnamese embassy here were on hand.

Speeches were made there.

Speakers said that Ho Chi Minh who devoted his whole life to the cause of the independence and freedom of Vietnam and its development had striven to develop the friendly relations between the parties, governments and peoples of the DPRK and Vietnam.

They said that the bilateral friendly relations provided by President Kim Il Sung and President Ho Chi Minh have steadily developed on good terms under the deep care of General Secretary Kim Jong Il and General Secretary Nong Duc Manh.

The participants looked round the photos of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il meeting with leaders of Vietnam and those introducing the life and activities of Ho Chi Minh.

Then, they watched a Vietnamese documentary film.
