New Coal Fields Discovered

Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- The Kangdong Area Coal Mining Complex of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has discovered new coal fields to boost the coal production in a far-sighted way. Deposited in the area are hundreds of millions of tons of high caloric coal. The complex has concentrated efforts on securing more coal reserves and promising colliery sites in order to meet the ever growing demand for coal. Recently, the Kangdong and Hukryong coal prospecting corps found out new coal fields with deposits of hundreds of thousands of tons. Han Pok Jin, chief engineer of the Kangdong Coal Prospecting Corps, told KCNA that it is likely to discover more coal fields in the area. The complex embraces Ryongnam, Toksan and other coal mines. |
