Consumer Goods Output Up

Pyongyang, May 28 (KCNA) -- Light industry factories in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have boosted the production of consumer goods. The Kim Jong Suk Pyongyang Silk Mill has topped its daily quotas by 50 percent through a collective innovation movement. The Pyongyang Textile Mill has reconditioned the existing spinning machines on a high-speed basis to raise cotton yarn productivity by 20 percent and reached a record high in production by conducting a multi-machine and multi-spindle tending campaign. The Songyo, Pyongyang Children's and other knitted goods factories have manufactured various kinds of knitwear, steadily improving the texture of fabrics. The Sinuiju and Wonsan Shoes factories, through a technical innovation movement, have mass-produced quality footwear of different models suitable to the tastes of people. An upsurge is also taking place in the sector of foodstuff and daily necessities industries. The Pyongyang Flour-processing Factory and the Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory are concentrating on updating their production processes, while keeping the production going on a high level, and the output of cookies has gone up at foodstuff factories across the country. The Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory and the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory have steadily increased the production of toothpaste, toothbrush and other primary consumer goods, while improving the quality of cosmetics and sundry goods. The Pyongyang Notebook Factory, the Yonsa Furniture Factory and the Kanggye Pencil Factory have turned out essential goods with raw materials available in their areas. |
