Korean Children Enjoy Benefits of State

Pyongyang, June 1 (KCNA) -- The Korean children are celebrating the 60th International Children's Day, June 1, at the nurseries, kindergartens and pleasure parks. In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea the children live a happy life under the state and public care. The Government of the DPRK spares nothing for the rising generation in the principle of giving the best things to the children first. Even in the days of the "Arduous March", forced march when the country was going through harsh ordeals, the state rationed the children with food and provided them with bean milk and fruits. Nutritious foodstuffs, including chicken and eggs produced by chicken farms across the country, have also been supplied to them first. The state has offered medical service, including vaccination, to them on a regular basis, while giving priority to the production of teaching tools for their intellectual development. Kim Sun Yong, 36, residing in Central District, Pyongyang, told KCNA that her children owe many things to the state, more than to their parents. |
