Children's Day Observed

Pyongyang, June 2 (KCNA) -- Children in the DPRK joyously marked the 60th International Children's Day on Tuesday. Sports and amusement games and art performances took place at such nurseries and kindergartens as Kim Jong Suk Nursery, Kang Pan Sok Nursery, Changgwang Kindergarten and Pyongyang Rungna Kindergarten No. 2 and parks and recreation grounds in the capital city. International Children's Day was also happily marked at nurseries and kindergartens of the February 8 Vinalon Complex, chemical products production centers in Hungnam and Namhung, machine-building bases in Rakwon and Ryongsong, the Migok Co-op Farm in Sariwon City, the Unhung Co-op Farm of Thaechon County, the Tongbong Co-op Farm of Hamju County, etc. Similar events took place at kindergartens of the Kim Chaek Iron and Steel Complex and in Chongjin and Kaesong cities. Kindergarteners in South Hamgyong Province and Phyongsong City staged colorful numbers at the Hamhung Grand Theatre and the Cultural House of South Phyongan Province. International Children's Day was significantly observed by children in all parts of the country ranging from Mubong village at the foot of Mt. Paektu to villages in the areas along the Military Demarcation Line and islands and islets in the east and west seas. |
