The statement disclosed that the sinking case of warship "Cheonan" is a product of the conspiracy between the present south Korean authorities, who attempt to stifle the DPRK and tide over the ruling crisis by diverting elsewhere the attention of the south Korean people, and the U.S. which seeks to enhance its strategic position in Northeast Asia.

It demanded that the U.S. and the south Korean authorities open to the world public the truth about the case and immediately stop their campaign against the DPRK.

We positively support all the measures taken by the DPRK to defend its sovereignty and dignity and express full support and solidarity with the Korean people resolutely struggling against the plots of the U.S. and its stooges, the statement said.

It called upon all the progressive and peace-loving forces of the world to slash at the reckless aggression moves of the U.S. and the south Korean authorities and intensify the support and solidarity with the just cause of the Korean people.

The Peruvian preparatory committee for commemorating the centenary of birth of President
Kim Il Sung, too, made public a statement on May 25 condemning the U.S. and the Lee Myung Bak group of traitors' anti-DPRK smear campaign.

The statement expressed solidarity with the DPRK's principled stand against the smear campaign on the part of the U.S. and the south Korean puppet clique.
