Bouasone Bouphavanh, prime minister of Laos, said this on May 31 when meeting with the DPRK ambassador to his country who paid a courtesy call on him.

Laos always supports the Korean people's cause of building socialism, the prime minister said, adding that the successes gained by the Korean people serve as a precious experience and great encouragement to the Lao people aspiring after socialism.

He said that the Lao party and government support the Korean people's efforts for the peaceful reunification of the country and the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and expressed apprehension over the fact that the imperialist hostile forces are escalating their threat and sanctions against the DPRK.

The nuclear issue on the peninsula should be solved peacefully through negotiations, he urged.

He wished the Korean people great successes in building socialism under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Il.
