Unpopular Policy Censured in S. Korea
Pyongyang, June 5 (KCNA) -- "The Buddhist Solidarity for Keeping Four Large Rivers Alive" and "the All-People Measure Committee for Checking the Project of Destroying Four Large Rivers" in south Korea separately held press conferences in Seoul on Tuesday urging the puppet authorities to stop the unpopular projects for "improving four large rivers".

The organizations recalled at the conferences that on May 31 a priest committed a self-immolation, leaving a suicide note, adding that this was strong protest and resistance against the Lee Myung Bak regime which is seriously devastating the life-giving rivers to satisfy its greed.

They declared they would turn out in the actions against the above-said projects so that the death of the priest might not be in vain, demanding Lee Myung Bak apologize to the victim and cancel the projects without delay.

Members of the Teachers Trade Union (Jongyojo) of south Korea on May 28 staged a demonstration in Seoul in protest against the puppet authorities' fascist crackdown.

They stressed that Jongyojo, as a legitimate teachers' trade union, would fight to the last against the unpopular education policy of the authorities for the sake of the children and the proper education.
