Present there were officials of the Ministry of Public Health, officials concerned and voluntary blood donors.

On hand were members of the WHO Mission, a member of the delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies active here, the Swedish ambassador to the DPRK and foreign guests.

At the event speakers referred to the significance of the day and the blood transfusion services that have been underway in cooperation with the WHO and the IFRC.

They stressed the need for the WHO to work well in line with the theme for this year.

Certificates were conveyed to the voluntary blood donors and a video was shown at the event.

The participants looked round photos on display and appreciated a performance given by an itinerant art squad of the Pyongyang Railway Bureau.
