Recalling that broad strata of people observed the 23rd anniversary of the June popular resistance which dealt a telling blow at the military gangsters' regime by their concerted efforts, the statement said that the resistance made a serious breakthrough in the fascist rule and spurred on the history of national independence and great national unity.

It appealed to the people of all strata to bring down the Lee Myung Bak dictatorial regime as early as possible in the same spirit of waging do-or-die resistance as displayed by the resistance fighters.

No one can predict what tragedy will take place on the Korean Peninsula in the future as long as traitor Lee Myung Bak is allowed to stay in power after orchestrating the case of sinking warship in league with the United States and thereby driving the situation to the brink of war, the statement warned.

It declared the people of all strata would frustrate such confrontation moves of the Lee Myung Bak dictatorial regime as totally denying the June 15 joint declaration, a milestone of national reunification, and bringing the dark clouds of a war.
