Present there were Kwak Tong Ui, chairman of the Overseas Side Committee for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, members of the Japan regional committee under the said committee, persons concerned of the reunification movement and Koreans in Japan.

Introduced there were solidarity messages from the North, South and Overseas Side Committees for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration, the regional committees of the Commonwealth of Independent States, Europe, Canada and the United States under the overseas committees, the Federation of Koreans in the U.S. and other organizations from overseas.

Kwak said in his report that the national event common to the nation which had been slated to be held with splendor by all the fellow countrymen in the north and the south and overseas on the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the June 15 joint declaration was scuttled due to the treacherous and anti-reunification moves of traitor Lee Myung Bak to escalate the confrontation.

Noting that the situation urgently calls for waging a more dynamic movement for national reunification, holding higher the banner of the June 15 joint declaration, he underscored the need to firmly preserve and implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, a programme for implementing it, and thus achieve national reconciliation and unity and intensify the patriotic movement for reunification.
