The statement noted that the past 46 years since he started his work at the C.C., the WPK were brilliant years that made a glorious history of defending socialism in the DPRK and the building of a great prosperous and powerful nation.

Thanks to Kim Jong Il, the WPK could become a powerful party with a firm independent principle which never vacillates despite all the tempests and trials of history, it said.

It stressed that Kim Jong Il has turned Kim Il Sung's Korea into an invincible socialist bulwark, independent in politics, self-supporting in economy and self-reliant in national defence which enjoys high dignity for his Songun politics and wisely led the just cause of mankind for independence against imperialism and global peace.
