The tower is a historical monument for glorifying for all ages the exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il for the realization of the cause of Juche-based Party building and demonstrating the greatness and invincibility of the WPK.

It has a hammer, a sickle and a writing brush depicting workers, farmers and intellectuals making up the WPK, a round band symbolizing a single-minded unity of the leader, the party and the popular masses and a platform representing the history of the WPK that has grown from the roots of the Down-with-Imperialism Union.

Over 4.6 million servicepersons and working people of various circles, school youth and children, overseas compatriots and foreigners visited the tower for the past 15 years since its completion.
