The historic June 15 joint declaration, the keynote of which is the idea of "By our nation itself", is the supreme reunification programme in the new century as it clearly indicates the most correct principles, orientation and ways for solving the reunification question and comprehends the consensus of the nation and all the agreements reached between the north and the south in the past, it notes, and says:

The publication of the joint declaration ushered in a new history of "By our nation itself", a new era of national independent reunification and brought an epochal turn in the Koreans' movement for national reunification.

When cherishing the value of the June 15 era of reunification and comparing the present tragic reality with the benefits they had got with excitement thanks to the June 15 joint declaration, the Koreans can not repress towering resentment toward the separatist forces at home and abroad who pushed the inter-Korean relations into the serious state as they are today.

Today the moves of the anti-reunification forces at home and abroad to block the advance of the June 15 era of reunification have reached the extremely reckless stage.

The reality requires the Korean nation to choose one of the two ways: One is to resolutely frustrate the anti-reunification confrontation offensive conducted by the south Korean group of traitors in collusion with foreign forces and continue advancing towards the independent reunification, peace and prosperity under the banner of the June 15 joint declaration. The other is to suffer the disasters of a war plus the continued tragedy of national division while remaining an onlooker to the said anti-reunification offensive.

The only choice to be taken by the Korean nation is to steadfastly defend and adhere to the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and wage the nationwide struggle for implementing them.
