It, aimed to occupy the whole of Korea by force of arms, caused massacre and destruction unprecedented in the history of war.

The U.S. imperialists mobilized their main forces and those of south Korea and its fifteen satellite countries and huge military equipment in the war in a bid to realize its aggressive ambition. They laid everything in the country in ruins by indiscriminate bombing and bombardment and killed civilians at random but they could neither occupy the country nor reduce its people to submission.

Although six decades has passed since then, the Korean peninsula is still fraught with danger of another war.

The U.S. imperialists, in violation of the Korean Armistice Agreement, have steadily reinforced armed forces in south Korea to turn it into the largest military base and nuclear arsenal in the Far East. They have also waged joint military exercises such as Team Spirit, RSOI (reception, staging, onward movement and integration), Key Resolve and Foal Eagle, escalating war preparations against the DPRK.

In view of their purpose, characteristics and equipment, all the military exercises staged by the U.S. imperialists every year are construed as a nuclear test war and a preliminary war to bulldoze the DPRK militarily and launch a preemptive strike at it.

Recently they, in collusion with the Lee Myung Bak puppet regime of south Korea, have abused the sinking of warship "Cheonan" in the anti-DPRK campaign, talking about "support" to south Korea and dispatch of naval task force to the West Sea of Korea.

Owing to their reckless moves of aggression, a touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the peninsula.
