Present there were officials of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification and the National Committee for Defending Revolution of Cuba and other people.

Present there on invitation were DPRK ambassador to Cuba and staff members of the DPRK embassy there.

Speeches were made there.

Juan Jose Leon Vega, first vice-chairman of the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification, referred to the fact that the army and people of the DPRK beat back the U.S. imperialists and won a brilliant victory in the three-year-long Fatherland Liberation War under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung.

He accused the U.S. of watching for a chance to invade the DPRK again by keeping huge aggression forces in south Korea and mobilizing all type up-to-date military equipment, far from drawing a lesson from their bitter defeat in the Korean war.

General Secretary Kim Jong Il, true to the behest of Kim Il Sung, has wisely steered the struggle of the Korean people to achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country, smashing every move of the U.S. imperialists and their stooges for aggression, he said, and went on:

The U.S. imperialists and the south Korean warmongers fabricated the case of sunk warship "Cheonan," driving the situation on the Korean Peninsula to the brink of war, but they can never bring the Korean people to their keens.

He affirmed that the Cuban Committee for Supporting Korea's Reunification would positively support the Korean people in their heroic struggle in the future, too.
