Sim Hyon Suk deepened study of the linguistic theory of the Korean compound words arising in the practical use of the Korean vocabularies, thus contributing to the education of the Korean language and researches into it. Sim Yong Suk unearthed and proved the data on the migration of Korean people to Northeast China from the 17th century to the period before the defeat of the Japanese imperialists and comprehensively studied and systematized them.

A ceremony of awarding the doctorates took place at the Mansudae Assembly Hall on Friday.
