Rodong Sinmun Sunday observes this in a signed article.

It goes on:

A big hurdle is lying in the way of accomplishing the cause of June 15 due to the vicious moves of the anti-reunification forces.

It is deplorable, indeed, that all the achievements made in the implementation of the June 15 declaration have been brought to naught and the great march of the fellow countrymen for reunification is facing a blatant challenge due to the reckless moves of the south Korean conservative authorities for confrontation against reunification.

The frantic moves of the Lee Myung Bak group for confrontation and war were prompted by its sinister aim to completely efface the June 15 era from the minds of the south Korean people so that its spirit might not be revived. The present grave reality goes to prove that if the Koreans fail to implement the inter-Korean declarations no matter how good they are, they can neither protect the successes made in their implementation nor promote the cause of independent reunification. We Koreans realize more keenly than ever before how precious the June 15 joint declaration is, standing at the crossroads of peace or war and the nation's survival or death after the complete disappearance of excitement and joy over the developing inter-Korean relations.

There will be independent reunification and peace and prosperity only when the cause of the June 15 era is upheld and glorified to the last.

All Koreans in the north and the south and abroad should launch a dynamic struggle, united close under the banner of the June 15 declaration in hearty response to the appeal made in the joint statement issued by political parties and organizations of the DPRK and meet all challenges of the anti-reunification forces and fling open the gate to national reunification.
