Survivors of "Cheonan" Give Lie to "Results of Investigation"

Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- Survivors of the warship "Cheonan" case testified to the fact that that they did not see any column of waters caused by an explosion at the time of the incident, according to south Korean Kyunghyang Daily News on June 25. This fact was made known by the testimony of survivors which was disclosed by a lawmaker from an opposition party of the "National Assembly ad hoc committee for probing the case of warship "Cheonan" for the first time. Survivors said in their testimony: "The ship listed to the starboard with a 'bang' but we did not see any column of waters." "While sleeping we did not hear any sound of a shock and explosion nor did see any column of waters." "We did not see flames and smoke except feeling smell of burning oil." In particular, a survivor who was on watch duty at a high position at that time, said while on duty he heard a "bang" from near the left side of the stern but did not see any column of waters. Conveying these facts, the daily news noted: "None of the survivors said he saw a column of waters caused by a torpedo-explosion at the time of the incident." |
