This fact was made known by the testimony of survivors which was disclosed by a lawmaker from an opposition party of the "National Assembly ad hoc committee for probing the case of warship "Cheonan" for the first time.

Survivors said in their testimony: "The ship listed to the starboard with a 'bang' but we did not see any column of waters." "While sleeping we did not hear any sound of a shock and explosion nor did see any column of waters." "We did not see flames and smoke except feeling smell of burning oil."

In particular, a survivor who was on watch duty at a high position at that time, said while on duty he heard a "bang" from near the left side of the stern but did not see any column of waters.

Conveying these facts, the daily news noted: "None of the survivors said he saw a column of waters caused by a torpedo-explosion at the time of the incident."
