US Wholly to Blame for Posing Nuclear Threat
|
|
Pyongyang, June 28 (KCNA) -- It was recently disclosed that the U.S. planned to use A-bombs in "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula even after the last Korean War, sparking off public furor. Kansas City Star put it that bosses of the State Department, the Defense Department, the Joint Chiefs of Staff Headquarters, CIA and the three services of the U.S. forces worked out at their strategic meeting in 1954 an operational plan envisaging A-bomb attacks in "contingency" on the Korean Peninsula. In 1969, too, the U.S. drafted an emergency plan Freedom Drop simulating nuclear attacks on the DPRK and ensuing damage. Commenting on this, a news analyst of Rodong Sinmun Monday observes: The above-mentioned facts brought to light who really poses a nuclear threat to the Korean Peninsula. With no rhetoric can the U.S. cover up these facts as they were leaked from CIA. To look back upon history, the U.S. has been an assailant who has threatened the Korean people with nukes and the DPRK its victim. The DPRK has been exposed to the U.S. constant nuclear threat for several decades. The U.S. threatened to use nukes against the Korean people during the war. It had begun illegally introducing nuclear weapons to south Korea since the latter half of the 1950s. Their number reached more than 1 000 in the mid-1970s, turning south Korea into the biggest nuclear arsenal and nuclear advance base in the Fat East. The U.S. has conducted ceaseless nuclear war exercises against the DPRK. It is, indeed, a chief criminal seriously threatening peace and security on the Korean Peninsula. This is a stark fact. It is its invariable ambition to preempt a nuclear attack on the DPRK any moment and stifle it. The DPRK's access to nuclear deterrent has guaranteed its supreme interests and security and reduced the danger of a nuclear war on the peninsula. If the U.S. truly stands for the solution to the nuclear issue on the peninsula, it should stop threatening the DPRK with nukes and pull back all its nuclear armed forces from south Korea and roll back its hostile policy toward the DPRK. |
