Present there were leading officials of local party and power bodies and working people's organizations, servicepersons, people from all walks of life and youth and students.

Speakers at the rallies bitterly condemned the U.S. imperialists for using germ and chemical weapons at random and attempting to drop A-bombs in wanton violation of international law during the Korean War.

The warmongers should clearly know that the provocation of the Korean War on June 25, 1950 was followed by the Korean people's victory on July 27, 1953, they stated, solemnly warning that the army and people of the DPRK will give vent to their pent-up grudge and resentment and mercilessly wipe the U.S. imperialists out should they recklessly come in attack on it.

They called for bringing about great innovations and leap forward in production and construction with the unshakable faith that the Korean people are sure to win under the leadership of General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

The rallies were followed by anti-U.S. demonstrations.

Similar rallies took place in cities and counties such as Sunchon City, South Phyongan Province and Paekam County, Ryanggang Province.
