Probe into Truth behind "Cheonan" Demanded in S. Korea

| Pyongyang, July 1 (KCNA) -- The "Joint Action for Probing the Truth about 'Cheonan' Case and Peace of the Korean Peninsula" grouping more than 40 civic and public organizations of south Korea held a press conference outside the building of the "National Assembly" in Seoul on June 28 demanding the puppet National Assembly make an "inspection of the state administration" for probing the truth behind the case. A press release was read out there. It accused the "Grand National Party" of railroading on June 23 "a resolution critical of the north" over the "Cheonan case" through "the Defense Committee of the NA" without putting it on vote. The press release expressed irrepressible resentment at the GNP which disabled the "NA ad hoc committee for probing the truth behind the case of warship 'Cheonan'" at a time when there are increasing doubts about the "results of the investigation" into the case and is getting frantic with taking "military counter-measures" that would spark off a war. The truth behind the case has not been probed yet, it said, urging the NA to make an "inspection of the state administration" for properly probing the truth behind the case. |
