The President praised them as patriots devoting themselves to the cause of the country's reunification, a long-cherished desire of the nation, and warmly congratulated the participants on the Pan-national Rally held successfully thanks to their concerted efforts.

He told them that national reunification was the most urgent task and unanimous desire of all the Korean people and that there were anti-reunification forces inside and outside the nation.

Saying that the country should be reunified through the founding of the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo on the basis of the three principles of national reunification agreed upon between the north and the south, he called on the entire nation to form a broad united front to this end.

Encouraged by what he said, they were resolved to redouble their efforts for the reunification of the country.
