Pyongyang, July 5 (KCNA) -- One day in mid-April Juche 29 (1940), the main force of the Korean People's Revolutionary Army (KPRA) led by President Kim Il Sung had a rest during a march. When the unit was taking breakfast, Japanese imperialists attacked the unit suddenly, threatening the security of the KPRA command. At the critical moment, anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk began firing at the enemy, calling on other soldiers to defend the command at the cost of their lives. Responding to her call, they fired a volley at the enemy in the death-defying spirit. Kim Jong Suk, with a group of soldiers, volunteered to lure the enemy away from the command, removing footprints of the unit members who already left. The members of the group were very tired for fierce battle and the reinforced enemy persistently followed them. The group was in danger. But Kim Jong Suk inspired the fellow soldiers to fight with all their might to defend the command. Encouraged by her spirit of devotedly defending the leader, the soldiers bravely fought against the enemy with an indomitable will to safeguard the security of the command. |
