Pyongyang, July 8 (KCNA) -- A seminar and a film show were held in Mexico and a Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibition opened with due ceremony in Brazil on June 30 and July 1 on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of demise of President Kim Il Sung. Displayed in the venue of the exhibition were photos on the revolutionary history of Kim Il Sung and the feats performed by General Secretary Kim Jong Il, works of the peerlessly great men, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and handiworks associated with the wisdom and talents of the Korean people. The president of the Mexican Committee for the Study of Kimilsungism said that 16 years have passed since his demise but the Korean people and the world progressive people highly praise him as the eternal leader of the Korean people and the great leader of the movement for global independence. Kim Il Sung steered the Korean revolution and the world revolution to a victory, performing undying feats, he said, adding that the validity and vitality of the Juche idea and the Songun idea founded by him have been brought into full play day by day. The mayor of Guara City of the Brasilia Federal District in Brazil said that Kim Il Sung, born into a poor peasant family, grew up witnessing the wretched fate of the people under the Japanese imperialists' colonial rule. He went on to say: The President embarked on the road of revolution in his teens and liberated the country by waging an armed struggle and thus provided the Korean people with a free and happy life. The Korean people have worked hard to build a great prosperous and powerful nation, firmly united around Kim Jong Il identical to Kim Il Sung in his popular personality. Screened at the film show was a Korean film on the revolutionary activities conducted by Kim Il Sung in 1994, the last year of his great life. |
