Floral Tribute to Kim Hyong Jik
Pyongyang, July 10 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were laid before the statue of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and an outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea, in Ponghwa-ri, Kangdong County of Pyongyang, and his grave in Mangyongdae on Saturday on the occasion of the 116th anniversary of his birth.

Seen there were wreaths from Kim Jong Il, general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the DPRK National Defence Commission and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremonies were Choe Thae Bok, Kim Ki Nam and others and officials of the Party, armed forces, power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, servicepersons, working people and school youth and children in the city of Pyongyang.

Placed before the statue and grave were wreaths in the name of the WPK Central Committee, the Presidium of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly, the DPRK Cabinet, ministries, national institutions, scientific and educational institutions, military academies and party and power organs, enterprises, farms and schools in Pyongyang.

The participants paid silent tribute to Kim Hyong Jik, looking back on the brilliant revolutionary life and exploits performed by him.

On the same day wreaths and flowers were laid before his statues at Kim Hyong Jik Military Medical University and in Sakju County, North Phyongan Province and Junggang County, Jagang Province.
