Phophyong Revolutionary Site Draws Endless Stream of Visitors

Pyongyang, July 11 (KCNA) -- An endless stream of people from all walks of life and school youth and children are visiting the Phophyong Revolutionary Site in Ryanggang Province on the occasion of the 116th birthday of Kim Hyong Jik, an indomitable revolutionary fighter and an outstanding leader of the anti-Japanese national liberation movement in Korea. Kim Hyong Jik conducted energetic activities in the area of Phophyong, frequently crossing the Amnok River from Badaogou of China from Juche 10 (1921) to Juche 13 (1924.) There are in the site the Phophyong Church, the Phophyong Mail Depository, the Phophyong Noodle Shop, the Phophyong Ferry and other places associated with the feats Kim Hyong Jik performed by dedicating himself to the country's independence. The revolutionary site has been visited by at least 128,000 persons over the last one year. |
