Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- The Youth and Students Solidarity for Implementing the June 15 Joint Declaration in south Korea on July 12 released a statement denouncing the fascist suppression of forces for the pro-reunification movement by the puppet police. The statement accused the "Intelligence Service" and the "Security Investigation Group" of the Seoul District Police Agency of searching the house of Kim Yong Ho, chairman of the "Pro-Reunification Youth", on July 8. It denounced the authorities for committing such fascist repression for the mere reason that Kim supported Yun Ki Jin, ex-chairman of the South Headquarters of the Pan-national Alliance of Youth and Students for Korea's Reunification, now behind bars. Lee Myung Bak who lost popularity due to his dictatorial rule and the policy for confrontation with the DPRK was thrown into a tight corner because of the recent "Cheonan" warship case, the project for "improving four large rivers", the "Yongpho Society's" power abuses, etc., the statement noted, slashing Lee for making desperate efforts to maintain his dictatorial power through suppression and a tyrannical rule. Noting that the people desirous of independence, democracy and reunification will not yield to any suppression, the statement urged the Lee regime to stop at once the indiscriminate crackdown on the pro-reunification movement forces, properly understanding the public mind-set. |
