Story of Kim Jong Suk

Pyongyang, July 16 (KCNA) -- On September 23, Juche 22 (1933), anti-Japanese heroine Kim Jong Suk received an order to participate in a battle to attack Badaogou from a command of the Anti-Japanese Guerrilla Army. A propaganda team of the Young Communist League of Korea led by her stealthily took combat positions together with companies of the guerrilla army and a Chinese anti-Japanese nationalist unit. When the battle started, they all dashed into the town. But their attack was halted soon by severe firing from the enemy’s battery. With the battery left intact, it would be difficult to avoid casualties and, furthermore, expect a victory in the battle. At that moment she suggested to the propaganda team an idea of containing the enemy with agitation shouts. She then shouted "You Self-Defense Corps men, for whom do you take rifles and fight? Lay down your rifles. We will not accuse you of your past doings. Help the guerrillas!" All the members of the propaganda team joined her in shouts. Overcome by the shouts, the enemies stopped firing. That day, the agitation shouts played a decisive role in winning the battle. |
