Pyongyang, July 17 (KCNA) -- Harvest of spring cocoons is in full swing in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Cocoon farms throughout the country, in response to the call of the Workers' Party of Korea for increasing the silk production, have reaped a good cocoon crop by raising silkworms in a scientific and technological way. Officials of the Sericulture and Silk Production Guidance Bureau and provincial sericultural sectors, with a high goal to make a fresh upswing in cocoon production this year, have found themselves in cocoon farms and properly carried on organizational and political works to harvest cocoons in time without any waste. Kangdong, Sadong, Rangnang, Hyongjesan and other cocoon farms in Pyongyang have taken the lead in harvesting cocoons. Those in South Hwanghae Province have operated drying grounds at full capacity to dry large quantities of cocoons every day. Such achievements have also been reported from South Hamgyong, North Phyongan, North Hwanghae and Kangwon Provinces. |
