Actions against "Improving Four Big Rivers" Unabated in S. Korea

Pyongyang, July 19 (KCNA) -- Actions against the project of "improving four big rivers" have been staged unabated in different parts of south Korea, according to CBS of south Korea on July 16.

At least 17,000 Buddhists published a declaration on the situation opposing the project on July 15 and launched into full-dressed actions.

Catholics in Yangphyong County, Kyonggi Province have held masses every day to have the project stopped.

South Kyongsang Province has flatly rejected participation in the project while South Chungchong Province formed the "Special Committee for Reexamination of the Kum River Project" and started overall investigation.
