The book contains 42 works of President Kim Il Sung including his historical speeches, conclusions and talks between January and December, Juche 78 (1989).

The works deal with his outstanding ideas, theories and policies which serve as guidelines in the struggle to fully display the advantages of the system of the DPRK by dynamically stepping up the movement of the grand socialist advance, and realize the reunification of the country and global independence.

Works including "Let Us Accelerate Socialist Construction with National Pride and Revolutionary Self-Confidence" and "On Thoroughly Implementing the Economic Tasks to Improve the Standard of People's Living" clarify the validity and vitality of the basic line of socialist economic construction put forward by the WPK, tasks and ways to successfully carry it out and tasks to be fulfilled to improve the standard of people's living while accelerating socialist economic construction.

He put forward principled issues in intensifying education in revolutionary traditions in such works as "Education through the Trees Bearing Slogans and Revolutionary Sites and Relics Should Be Intensified" and "Talk with Officials While Looking round the Ssuksom Revolutionary Site".

There are also works which expound the need to spruce up the Majon and Taesongsan Pleasure Parks and Mt. Kuwol, prevent pollution and improve supply service for inhabitants so as to provide better conditions for cultural recreation and living to the Korean people.

Also carried in the book are works giving correct answers to theoretical and practical issues arising in carrying out the Korean revolution and realizing the human cause of independence including the issue of developing the movement of Koreans in Japan, the issue of frustrating the moves of separatists for "two Koreas" and achieving national reunification as early as possible and the issue of intensifying friendship and solidarity with different countries of the world.
