S. Korea Accused of Its Moves to Intensify Anti-DPRK Campaign

Pyongyang, July 21 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities were recently reported to have held the first "diplomatic and security policy coordination meeting" since the adoption of the presidential statement at the UNSC. At this meeting attended by the ministers of "Foreign Affairs and Trade," "Unification" and "National Defense," and chief diplomatic and security secretaries of "Chongwadae" and others they had an in-depth discussion on putting into practice such "measures against the north" as the joint naval maneuvers with the U.S. they planned to stage over the warship "Cheonan" case, the "escalation of the psychological warfare against the north" and "suspension of the south-north cooperation." Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard: The above-said development indicates that the conservative group has not given up its "psychological warfare against the north" but hatched a plot to continue using it as a lever of pressure upon the DPRK. This, at the same time, patently proves that the conservative authorities remain unchanged in their one-sided policy of confrontation even after the publication of the above-said presidential statement. A scrutiny into the participants in the meeting shows that they were diehard confrontation maniacs who have taken the lead in fostering distrust and confrontation among fellow countrymen and bringing the north-south relations to a collapse. After experiencing a hot agony of shame under the eyes of the world with its international campaign to tighten sanctions against the DPRK proving futile, this group is now making desperate efforts to recover from its total fiasco at the UN at any cost, save its face and inject energy into its bankrupt confrontational racket. The conservative group had better draw a lesson from all what it has done so far over the warship case and bear deep in mind that it can never find a way out of the present dilemma in escalating the confrontation between the north and the south. |
