The joint statement noted that the south Korean authorities brought up the case of warship "Cheonan" for discussion at the UNSC in an attempt to seek another "sanctions" against the DPRK, but the UNSC concluded its discussion on this issue without adopting any resolution.

It is the victory of the DPRK's diplomacy that the UNSC took heed to the stand of the DPRK, the statement said, adding that this is the victory of justice.

The U.S. imperialists and the Lee Myung Bak clique's scheme to impose sanctions on the DPRK came to failure while being rejected, it said, stressing:

We congratulate the DPRK on its recent great victory and support the just demand for replacing the Armistice Agreement with a peace treaty.
