It is the revolutionary traits of the Korean people to give full play to the mental power of single-minded unity in every period of weighty significance in the development of the WPK and the revolution, the editorial says, and goes on:

In 1966 the Korean people conducted the vigorous drive to carry out the Seven-Year Plan in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance with the WPK conference held in October as an occasion, and at the time of the 6th Congress of the WPK they staged an all-out drive for sweeping socialist construction to build a great number of monumental edifices representing the era of the Workers' Party in different parts of the country.

The great mental power of single-minded unity served as a driving force that helped Korean-style socialism shine as an invincible bulwark even in the worst adversity of the "Arduous March", the forced march in the 1990s and made it possible to declare the building of a thriving nation in this land.

Today our army and people, rallied as one in mind and purpose, are conducting the general offensive to greet the WPK conference with laudable achievements of the great revolutionary surge. The completion of Taegyedo Tideland reclamation is an admirable labor gift presented by the Korean working class to the 65th anniversary of the WPK and its conference, and it is a historic miracle brought by the inexhaustible might of single-minded unity of the army and people closely rallied around the WPK.

The single-minded unity of the party, the army and the people--this represents the strength, victory and rosy future of the DPRK. The WPK conference is at hand, and it is high time that we demonstrated once again the might of single-minded unity that was cemented in the protracted historic struggle and grew stronger on the road of the Songun revolution.

There will be no fortress impossible for us to attain when we have the do-or-die spirit and the matchless working spirit to materialize the plan and intention of the WPK without fail.
