Taegyedo Tideland, Offspring of Korean People's Spiritual Power
Pyongyang, July 24 (KCNA) -- The Taegyedo tideland reclamation project has successfully been completed in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with the approach of the 65th anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and a conference of the WPK.

The project has changed the Korean map and brought about a great progress in the effort for the agricultural development and the improvement of the people's livelihood.

In the period of the Fatherland Liberation War President Kim Il Sung set forth a plan to reclaim tidelands on the west coast and organized powerful building forces for the projects.

True to his intention, General Secretary Kim Jong Il took measures to finish the Taegyedo Tideland reclamation at an early date and gave on-the-spot guidance to the project to encourage the builders to accelerate it.

The builders and helpers constructed dikes extending nearly 14 kilometers from Tasa Islet in Yomju County, North Phyongan Province to Cholsan Peninsula through Taedasa, Kacha and Taegye Islets and built a network of facilities in the reclaimed tideland in the revolutionary spirit of self-reliance and fortitude to obtain as large arable land as a county.

Through the project, they have demonstrated the indefinite spiritual power of the Korean people closely united around the WPK and their strong will to build a thriving nation without fail.

Several days ago, Kim Jong Il visited the reclaimed tideland and highly appreciated the builders' feats in finishing the huge nature-harnessing project.
