Rodong Sinmun Wednesday observes in a signed commentary in this regard:

The triangular military alliance grouping the U.S., Japan and south Korea actually exists and is now operational. Herein lies more dangerous and serious nature of the on-going joint naval maneuvers.

The preparations for the formation of the above-said military alliance had been pushed forward since the era of the Cold War. This alliance helps the U.S. realize its wild ambition to dominate the world and Japan put its scenario for reinvasion into practice in order to realize its old dream of "Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere" as "a leader" of Asia. This alliance is now becoming a reality after going through a full-fledged phase.

By rounding off the formation of the military alliance the U.S. seeks to legally use Japan and south Korea as shock brigades for carrying out its strategy for invading the DPRK.

Meanwhile, the Japanese reactionaries are working hard to make a breakthrough towards realizing their wild ambition for overseas expansion, pursuant to the U.S. strategy for invading the DPRK. The exceptional zeal shown by Japan in the efforts to knock the military alliance into shape is aimed to please its American master and increase the SDF's operational function for overseas aggression under its backing and patronage.

This time the U.S. let officers of the MSDF to participate in the joint naval military exercises in the East Sea of Korea under the cloaks of "observers" and "visitors." But it wants to openly plug troops of the SDF into the U.S.-south Korea joint military exercises in the future with the above-said case as a precedent.

This is precisely what the U.S. seeks.

The hostile forces would be well advised to behave themselves, cogitating about the serious consequences to be entailed by the above-said moves.
