Output of Consumer Goods Goes Up
Pyongyang, July 29 (KCNA) -- Light industry factories in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea have boosted the output of consumer goods.

The Manpho Spinning Mill surpassed this year's plan at 117 percent as of mid-July by raising the production rate, fully securing raw and other materials and introducing effective technological inventions.

The foodstuff factory in Sinphyong County, North Hwanghae Province, lifted the production of essential foodstuffs six times and the paper mill in Unjon County, North Phyongan Province raised the production of notebooks 6.6 times in the first half of the year compared with the corresponding period of last year.

Ryanggang Province has concentrated on technological updating of locally-controlled industry factories to step up the output of consumer goods.

Samjiyon County has streamlined the soy and bean paste factory and applied its success and experience to other factories.

Kapsan, Unhung and other counties have updated existing factories, while increasing the output of primary consumer goods.

The Kanggye Pencil Factory and the Kanggye Plastic Daily Necessities Factory have invigorated the mass technological innovation movement for increased production.

The Sinuiju Enamel Ware Factory, the Sinuiju Plastic Daily Necessities Factory, the Sinuiju Household Goods Factory and other factories and enterprises in the city have made varieties of consumer goods with by-products.
