At the press conference speakers accused the security authorities of summoning for investigation So Sang Chol, chairman of the Kyonggi-Inchon Confederation of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification (Pomminryon). This action was taken in the wake of the frantic search for offices of organizations for the reunification movement including the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and other civic and public organizations and houses of their leading members in May last year, they charged.

The tentacles of suppression stretched by the authorities to the South Headquarters of Pomminryon and then to regional organizations under it are part of the persistent tyrannical actions against the movement for independent reunification, they noted, and continued:

The rights of the people can never be guaranteed as long as there exist all sorts of repressive machines and fascist forces creating the terror-ridden situation under the pretext of "security".

They demanded the authorities abolish the "Security Law" and dismantle such repressive machines as the "Intelligence Service" and the "Security Investigation Group" as early as possible.
