The banner of Songun represents the steadfast will of the Workers' Party of Korea to creditably defend the country and the nation from the aggression and challenges of foreign forces by realizing the age-old desire of the Korean nation for strong national power and the unshakable resolution of the Party to realize the desire of the fellow countrymen for peace and reliably defend the security of the nation.

The Songun politics of the WPK put, by dint of matchless military power, an end to the history in which the Korean nation was subject to sufferings for being weak. It also helped make a new history of independence and dignity, putting the Korean nation in the centre of the world.

There has come the greatest heyday of prosperity in the history of the Korean nation spanning 5 000 years and the dignity and pride of the nation are being fully demonstrated before the world.

It is thanks to the Songun politics that no one dares do harm to the sovereignty and dignity of the Korean nation.

The Songun politics serves as a shield of patriotism as it helps frustrate the persistent moves of the U.S. and its lackeys to provoke a war of aggression against the DPRK and defend peace on the Korean Peninsula and creditably protect the security of the nation.

The DPRK is resolutely frustrating the vicious military provocative moves of the aggressors at home and abroad and creditably defending the supreme interests of the country, peace on the Korean Peninsula and the security of the nation under the banner of Songun.

Thanks to the might of Songun, peace on the peninsula has been preserved and the security of all Koreans protected and they are dynamically marching along the road of national independence and reunification indicated by Songun.
