The statement noted that Kim Jong Il formulated the three principles of national reunification, the 10-point programme of the great unity of the whole nation and the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo advanced by President Kim Il Sung as the three charters for national reunification and elucidated the idea to accomplish national reunification based on them.

It praised Kim Jong Il for having provided the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, its action program, and brought about a radical turn in achieving the great national unity and accomplishing national reunification.

The statement denounced the present south Korean authorities for getting frantic in the anti-DPRK smear campaign after fabricating the "Cheonan" sinking case in collusion with the U.S.

The statement clarified that absolutely intolerable are the U.S. and the anti-reunification conservative ruling forces of south Korea getting hell-bent on viciously inciting the confrontation and war while crudely violating the valuable achievements gained in the national reunification movement.

It called upon all the overseas compatriots to resolutely reject the confrontation and war moves of the anti-reunification forces and turn out in the national reunification movement in firm unity under the banner of the three charters for national reunification and the June 15 joint declaration.
