Pyongyang, August 7 (KCNA) -- The banks of the picturesque Taedong River in Pyongyang are always crowded with people.

They are good places for many people to have physical training.

Ri Sun Nyo, a 69-year-old resident in Kyogu-dong, Central District, told KCNA that she had taken physical exercise by the river every day, breathing fresh air and feeling herself young, and that the good health of the old led to a good job of their sons and daughters in their workplaces.

Also seen by the river are children following their parents in exercise, young couples running along the river, students building up physical strength and men playing Korean chess.

Anglers, spectators and sightseeing boats also add to the riverscape.

Reflected in the picture of the riverside is part of the Korean people's cultural and emotional life.
