Kim Jong Il turned the DPRK into a political and ideological power and definitely put it on the position of military power through his original Songun leadership.

Under his Songun leadership the Korean People's Army has been prepared as an invincible army fully equipped with the modern offensive and defensive means and the DPRK has secured even the powerful war deterrent capable of repelling any formidable enemy at one blow.

Noting that signal achievements are registered in the building of a thriving nation in the DPRK day by day after the torch of a new great revolutionary surge, kindled by Kim Jong Il, swept the whole country, the statement said that the DPRK will always display its might as an invincible state under his Songun leadership.
