Subject to all sorts of maltreatment and insult as members of the stateless nation after their births in the period of the colonial rule of the Japanese imperialists, they could not enjoy a worthy life and happiness till President Kim Il Sung liberated the country.

They worked hard with their single desire to repay the great benevolence shown by the Workers' Party of Korea and the President for them. They kept themselves busy even after they became pensioners.

They like boiled rice mixed with four other staple cereals and food made out of bean, in particular. They are always optimistic in their life, doing kitchen work and tending family gardens.
