The work published on August 18, Juche 79 (1990) comprehensively clarifies tasks and ways for waging the movement for reunification such as the issue of achieving the reunification of the country by federal formula on the three principles --independence, peaceful reunification and great national unity-- and the issue of calling on all Koreans to form a widespread united front and struggle in close unity.

Yang Hyong Sop, vice-president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, said in his report that a dynamic struggle was waged at home and abroad to organize the reunification movement into a movement of the whole nation on the basis of the achievements made by the pan-national rally in hearty response to the work clearly indicating the ways to solve the issue of reunification by the concerted efforts of the Koreans and this led to the birth of the Pan-national Alliance for Korea's Reunification.

The President's idea of great unity of the whole nation and the valuable experience of the national unity have become the nation's treasure and a solid foundation for achieving the great unity of the whole nation and independent reunification, he said, stressing that the exploits performed by the President will always shine in the history of the country.

The President's cause of national reunification is being successfully carried forward by General Secretary Kim Jong Il.

He published works such as "Let Us Carry Out the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung's Instructions for National Reunification" and "Let Us Reunify the Country Independently and Peacefully through the Great Unity of the Entire Nation" to indicate the true way of bringing about a landmark turn in the inter-Korean relations and national reunification.

He provided the historic June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration, its action programme, thus enabling the Korean nation to greet a new era of achieving the national unity and independent reunification under the banner of "By our nation itself."

The reporter called on all Koreans in the north and the south and overseas to unite close under the banner of national reunification, the patriotic banner, and thus turn out as one in the struggle for decisively foiling the reckless moves of the anti-reunification forces and bringing earlier national reunification.
